Immerse yourself in the world of mushrooms

On Mushroom Day on Sunday, September 30, we will be presenting the colorful and diverse world of mushrooms on the grounds of the visitor center in Sihlwald. You will learn the names and scents at the stands. Games and mushroom tattoos await younger guests. The event is free of charge.

at the Wilderness Park Festival

Sunday, September 16 is the Wilderness Park Festival in Sihlwald and Langenberg. Children's concerts with Marius von der Jagdkapelle, Maximilian's magic show, Chasperli Theater and many other highlights provide fun, excitement and entertainment for the whole family. Admission and activities are free.

Neophyte control

the success story continues

For the third time, employees of the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation, together with many volunteers and partners from the Sihl Valley, cleared the area around the old Sihlbrugg railroad station of invasive neophytes. The campaign was a great success: a much larger area than in previous years was cleared of various problem plants.

At the Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park, the focus on Sunday, June 17 is on the little ones. On the traditional Day of the Young Animals, visitors can learn lots of exciting and entertaining facts about the current young of the local wild animals.

New home for the three young bears

Zurich Wildlife Park has found a new home for its three male cubs at Straubing Zoo in Germany. The transportation of the three brown bears from Langenberg to Straubing last week went smoothly.

Opening day under the sign of the otter

The new season at the visitor center in Sihlwald starts on Sunday, 25 March with the opening day. With the new special exhibition "Grüezi otter - welcome back", the entire program revolves around the playful "water marten". There is also a suitable card for every need at the start of the season.

Elks in Langenberg look forward to Christmas trees

"Every year again, ..." begins a well-known Christmas carol. This phrase also applies to the moose in the Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park. At the beginning of winter, the large deer switch their diet from deciduous trees to conifers. The unsold Christmas trees are very welcome.

Winter peace returns to the Sihlwald forest

Enjoy the Sihlwald Visitor Center one last time before the end of the season on Sunday, 29 October: Hot chestnuts, the Schwyzerörgeli trio "Echo vom Sihlwald" and a craft table make the end of winter a special day. Admission to the Nature Museum is free on this day.

First success in the resettlement of the edentulous gastropod molluscs

One year after the mini snails moved to the Sihlwald, it is clear that the endangered animals have managed to survive in their new habitat. This is positive news for the Zurich Wilderness Park, as the animals fit perfectly into the Sihlwald natural forest.
