The Zurich Wilderness Park as a guest in the magazine Tierwelt

The zooschweiz association, of which the Zurich Wilderness Park is also a member, is delighted to announce a new partnership.

From now on, an exciting background report from a Swiss zoo will appear in every second issue of Tierwelt magazine. On November 26, 2020, it's the turn of Zurich Wilderness Park. We show what it takes to keep a pack of wolves successfully and in an animal-friendly way. Current occasion for this article: Langenberg Zoo recently received a new female wolf. She will hopefully form a new pack with the last remaining male from the old wolf family.

Reopening of the Zurich Wilderness Park

Gradual reopening

The coronavirus is also setting the pace at the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation. It is therefore starting the 2020 season in stages with its diverse range of activities.

Fire ban due to forest fire risk

Due to the persistent breeze and the lack of rain, it is very dry in the Sihlwald and in all forests in the canton of Zurich. There is a high risk of forest fires (level 4 out of 5). For this reason, there is an immediate ban on fires in and near the forest.

Due to the measures taken by the Federal Council against the spread of the coronavirus, the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation is taking the following measures in consultation with the Canton of Zurich's Department of Health:
