After the heavy thunderstorms there is a lot of loose dead wood and fallen trees can block paths. Please be careful and do not rest under scrawny trees.

Due to the ongoing heat wave and drought, there is a considerable risk of forest fires in the canton of Zurich (level 3 out of 5). We kindly ask you not to light fires in the Sihlwald. You may use the marked fireplaces in the Langenberg Wildlife Park. Please always extinguish the fire completely.

Off into a wild season with new attractions

On Sunday, March 27, the doors of the nature museum, the visitor center and the restaurant in Sihlwald will open. A new "search for clues" with a walk-in squirrel cage and special guided tours ensure a varied day for the whole family.

A traditional, small and fine festival with various highlights accompanies the start of the season. The Nature Museum attracts visitors with the two exhibitions "WaldWildnisWir" and "Vom Nutzwald zum Naturwald": In these, today's forest wilderness, its origins and various natural forest inhabitants are highlighted in all their facets on two floors. Two free guided tours provide an insight into the history of the Sihlwald hamlet. The visitor center with store offers carefully selected,
themed literature discoveries are available to browse through.

The opening Sunday can also be enjoyed outside the doors of the visitor center. A new search for clues awaits the youngest guests: help Rubia the squirrel find food. Whoever cracks the code can pick up a prize at the visitor center.

The Sihlwald restaurant tempts visitors with delicacies, while the wilderness playground makes children's dreams come true. If you like, you can light your own fire from the wood provided.

Historical guided tours at 2 and 3 pm: "Colonie Sihlwald: from idyll to work site and back again".
