Interim solution for the operation of the Sihlwald campsite in sight

The Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation and "IG Camping Sihlwald" mutually agree that the operation of the Sihlwald campsite can continue to be run by "IG Camping Sihlwald" as an interim use until a new concept is available and funding is secured.

Three-quarters of German-speaking Swiss in favor of zoos

74 percent of Swiss people are in favor of zoos. This was the result of a study by the opinion research institute Forsa. The most frequently cited reasons are the protection and preservation of species, knowledge transfer and the importance of zoos for children.

Langenberg Zoo opens on June 6

The Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation is delighted to welcome guests back to Langenberg Zoo from June 6. Further easing of restrictions by the Federal Council has made it possible to reopen two days earlier than planned.

"WaldWildnisWir" - the anniversary exhibition has opened

More clarity for our guests

Clear and intuitive, the new conservation area markings in the Sihlwald are designed to ensure that visitors follow the rules in place to protect this unique natural forest.

The bark beetle - a piece of the puzzle in the natural forest cycle

The bark beetle, which is only a few millimeters in size, feeds exclusively on spruce trees. These die in the process. In commercial forests, forest damage is deplored. In a natural forest like the Sihlwald it is different: here the beetle is part of the ecosystem.

Proven cooperation in the fight against neophytes

From June 10 to 12, 138 volunteers joined forces with the Zurich Wilderness Park and various project partners to declare war on the neophytes around the old Sihlbrugg train station. The pleasing result: the invasive plants have continued to decline. The cooperation with the partners has become established.

Checking illegal bike trails in the Sihlwald forest

The rangers of the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation, together with the Zurich Cantonal Police, carried out a check on illegal bike trails in the Sihlwald on the weekend of June 1-2.
