Three young brown bears

Generation change at Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park

The female bear at Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park gave birth to three cubs in January 2016. From today, May 4, visitors can watch the mother bear and her three cubs exploring the bear enclosure. The remaining two cubs from 2013 were transported to Naples Zoo this week. This means that the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation has successfully placed all three cubs born in 2013.

Transport flights over the Sihlwald

Tomorrow, 5 April, a helicopter will transport around five tons of material from the Sihlwald. The recently demolished Brochenegg hut will be removed in this way. The hut was located in the specially protected core zone of the Sihlwald and must therefore be removed.

Start of the season with secret immigrants and neobiota on the plate

Immigrants or natives? The new special exhibition at the Nature Museum in Zurich Wilderness Park explores this question. The vernissage will take place on Sunday, March 20, as part of the opening day. The program includes guided tours, "Märli", flute making and a small aperitif with delicious neobiota.

Implementation of the revised Sihlwald Protection Ordinance underway

The Zurich Wilderness Park is continuing to implement the requirements of the conservation ordinance for the Sihlwald following its revision by the Canton of Zurich. The canton brought the revised protection ordinance into force on October 23, 2015.

Place found for young bear

Zurich Wildlife Park has found a place for a male bear cub from 2013. The almost three-year-old brown bear was handed over to Forestia Zoo in Belgium on November 19, 2015.

Sihlwald goes into hibernation on November 1

On Sunday, November 1, the visitor center, nature museum and restaurant in Sihlwald will close their doors for the winter break. On this day, admission to the exhibitions is free. The fire pits, wilderness playground and forest adventure trail are accessible free of charge all year round.
