Leash obligation in the forest and at the edge of the forest
The new law also applies to the Sihluferweg.
Wild animals are particularly susceptible to disturbance during the breeding and settling season. Therefore, according to the new hunting law of the Canton of Zurich, dogs must be kept on a leash in the forest and at the edge of the forest from April 1 to July 31. The edge of the forest is defined as an area up to 50 meters away from the forest. This means that during this period, dogs must also be kept on a lead on the Sihl riverside path. The path in question is marked with signs. The leash requirement within the Sihlwald natural forest reserve continues to apply all year round in accordance with the protection ordinance.
