Fire ban in the Sihlwald and at Langenberg Wildlife Park
Warning: risk of forest fire!
Due to the ongoing drought, there is a high risk of forest fires. A total ban on fires is therefore in force in the Sihlwald and at Langenberg Wildlife Park. This applies in particular to the setting off of fireworks and sparklers.
A fire ban is now in force throughout the entire Sihlwald area, on the grounds of the Sihlwald Visitor Centre and at Langenberg Wildlife Park.
Due to the ongoing heatwave, the Canton of Zurich has determined the risk of forest fire risk as "extremely high". Consequently, it is prohibited until further notice to light fires in the forest or within a 50-metre radius of the forest edge. It is also prohibited to throw away burning or smouldering items such as cigarettes or matches, and to set off fireworks or sparklers.
The ban expressly applies to official fire pits, fire pits in and around forest huts, and charcoal barbecues.
The situation is being monitored continuously. You can find the latest information at waldbrandgefahr.ch and zh.ch/waldbrandgefahr.
