Commitment to Species Conservation
Another young lynx has been born at Langenberg Zoo. With a little luck, you can spot it from the walking path that leads toward the Orelli House.
Our zookeeper was able to film the cub nursing through binoculars.
Did you know that we raise our lynxes so that they can eventually be released back into the wild? Only a few zoos in Europe are able to do this.
The lynxes must remain as wary of humans as possible. That’s why our zookeepers deliberately keep their distance from the animals.
Without genetic diversification, lynx will not survive in Central Europe in the long term.
Donations
We are currently working with the Friends of Zurich Wildlife Park to raise funds for some structural modifications to the lynx enclosure. Thank you very much for your support!
