Forest Nature Trail

Insights into the natural forest in winter

Season

All season

On the Forest Nature Trail you get to learn the secrets of the forest, and in a creative and imaginative way you come into contact from head to toe with the Sihlwald.

In winter, the Forest Discovery Trail offers a glimpse into the secrets of the wintry Sihlwald and is a treat for the senses. The trail features 12 stations: counting tree rings, identifying trees, exploring natural soundscapes, observing and discovering amazing things. Walk along a footbridge (which can be slippery when wet) through the fairytale-like bog forest, perceive deadwood as a source of life, find out how a tree drinks, or compete with the animals in the long jump. The Forest Adventure Trail starts and ends at the junction of Sihluferweg and Forststrasse. A few minutes’ walk downstream along the Sihl is the wilderness playground on the Sihlwald visitor centre grounds.
