After the heavy thunderstorms there is a lot of loose dead wood and fallen trees can block paths. Please be careful and do not rest under scrawny trees.

Due to the ongoing heat wave and drought, there is a considerable risk of forest fires in the canton of Zurich (level 3 out of 5). We kindly ask you not to light fires in the Sihlwald. You may use the marked fireplaces in the Langenberg Wildlife Park. Please always extinguish the fire completely.

Update Corona protective measures

The COVID-19 Ordinance of December 3 does not result in any significant changes for visits to the Zurich Wilderness Park.

Langenberg Zoo:

  • The outdoor areas remain freely accessible. There is no certificate requirement.
  • The muesli hut and the Mongolian yurt will remain closed to the public, as the certificate requirement cannot be sensibly implemented in these indoor areas.
  • The visitor entrance to the wild cats, the fox barn and the elk house will remain open to the public
  • The Wilderness Park store is open without restrictions on the number of people. Masks are compulsory for visitors and staff.

Restaurant Langenberg

  • The self-service "Bärentreff" is regularly open from Monday to Sunday from 09:00 to 18:00.
  • The self-service "Ofen- und Jägerstübli" is open in December as follows:
    Wednesday to Saturday 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm
    Sunday 11.30 to 15.00
  • The restaurant will remain closed in January and February until 28.02.2022.
  • The protective measures in accordance with the COVID-19 Ordinance of 03.12.2021 for the catering industry apply (certificate and mask requirement for indoor areas, mandatory seating during consumption).
